I'm Leaving London for Lands End
Lets do the roundup
1. I miss my sisters & family. I miss Steve & my nephew Jacob. I'm looking forward to Joanna getting back out here to Covenant after spring break. Even if I don't see her nearly as much as I should, its nice to know she's safe and sound up the mountain.
2. My free x-box has shipped. I should have it today or tomorrow.
3. I'm really feeling for my wife lately. All her co-workers keep calling in sick and April is having to pick up their shifts. I think she's up to 40 hours already, or something crazy like that. Along with a tired wife, it means I get just that many more stories about dogs and cats crashing, bleeding out, or suffering from wacky illnesses of which there are no human equivalents.
4. I haven't been sleeping well. I keep waking up periodically through the night, my mind immediately slammed into full-awake mode thinking about projects and tasks I have to accomplish.
5. I went to Wal-Mart last night with April. There's something eerily welcoming about the place, like its America's bosom for all the right and wrong reasons. I haven't been in a Wal-Mart in nearly a year, yet somehow the place makes sense. I wonder if its the grand summation of our consumer, low-cost products culture which is so part of who we are that we feel inextricably part of it. Maybe that's what Wesley Willits understood better than any of us. Always low prices, always.
6. Have I mentioned this Patrick Wolf album "Wind in the Wires" is stunning?
7. Do please donate to help Matt Allison replace all the stuff he had stolen from him a few days ago in Kampala, Uganda.
8. Along with my X-Box, my Free iPod Shuffle should be here in a few days. I'm working on a 2nd Free iPod Shuffle that I plan on giving to Choltie. Along with that I'm doing a Free Sony PsP, another Free iPod (will be a gift), and a Free FlatScreen. If folks have questions about any of it all, I can explain it to you, and heck, I'll even cancel things for you so you don't have to worry 'bout getting charged. I did it for Joseph when he helped me on my free x-box.
9. April and I are looking at houses, planning on buying one soon. There's a couple we really like. Its funny sometimes just how differently we'll see the same thing. I'm committed to, regardless of the house, putting in either Irish style hedges or a cool stone wall around the property, Old-World style. So if you've got any leads on houses on St. Elmo for sale (there are oh so many that aren't listed), do let me know.

Steve and I miss you too, Jake. Did you get my letter?
Oh, and my vote (if it matters) is for the cool stone wall around the property. But you have to make sure that it's moss covered. There is not much cooler than moss covered stones. Remember the rock wall along the edge of one side of the property on Powderly? We played on it all the time. Stone walls can be great for housing all sorts of slimy creatures that will entertain kids for hours. It's like free babysitting. Screw the tv-- more rock walls.
