Covenant College Regional Alumni-Forum

Monday, February 28, at 8:00pm in the President’s Room of the Probasco Alumni Center there's going to be an open forum with President Niel B. Nielson & Wallace Anderson for local Covenant College alumni.

The purpose is to address some mounting concerns in the general alumni public over large tuition increases and alarming staff firings & resignations; at least thats what I've heard. Personally I think this would be a good opportunity for some folks to some answers to the many questions out there, and perhaps to start to close the ever widening gap 'tween the College and its alumni. Again, said "gap" is just what I've heard; See: blog title.

I'll say there's a gap.

I'd love to be there, but 800 miles is a long way to shout.

I'm one CC alum who does not feel much of a gap. Maybe its because I've been in corporate America for the last ten years, but I do not think the changes up on the hill have been bad for the school. I sure hope all of Nielson's detractors who are within a decent drive show up. The prez is very approachable and the dialogue should be a lot more informative than what I've seen on most blogs lately ;)

Covenant's answer to any problem: hold an "open" forum.

Its just their way of slapping an appeasement bandage on an open wound. The problem never goes away, but everyone still comes out feeling good about themselves.

I can't put in writing what I'd like to say about what I think of Covenant these days. It's verboten. I would simply point you to Josiah's blog entry from September 2, 2003.

Josiah, sorry about the triple posts. Delete the first two if you please. I was having network problems and it kept timing out.

I'd love to be there and throw a few wrenches in the system, but, alas, I recently moved. Josiah, it'd be great if you gave the general public an update on what happens (if you go). You could also say something devisive for me, if you feel up to it.

I'm sure President Nielson will take emails for those who can't be there today. Perhpas if he gets enough emails on the same issue today, he'll address them tonight.

Couldn't make the event...kids' stuff and all took priority. Looking forward to your report.
