A Thousand Miles From Nowhere
Isaac and I got in a discussion the other day, at least I think it was Isaac, 'bout what frontman we'd be if we could be any frontman. Then it became a discussion 'bout what country singer we'd be: of course we all picked Johnny Cash. Then it became living country singer, and after much deliberation on my part, I decided to go with Dwight Yoakam. His "Very Best Of..." album just came out, and it'd be a nice addition to anyone's music library.
I meant it all as no slight to Willie Nelson, mind you. Something about Willie transcends typical "country" definitions; perhaps its his respectable(?) loyalty to a certain herbage or his *near-dreds*. I still insist Teatro was one of the best albums of the '90's.
I also think folks who are in general interested 'bout Chattanooga civic-ish type stuff should checkout the Chattanooga Civic Forum. I'm not sure who the guy is who's running it, but I've been hoping for a site like that on Chattablogs for awhile, and I'd encourage all y'all 'Noogans to participate if you will.
Don't forget that Free Mini Mac, and you should help Jessica on her iPod if you're interested in doing the Free iPod Deal. I did that offer, and the extra iPod made a nice gift to a friend this past Christmas.
Rumor has it Brian Crossman resigned as the soccer coach at Covenant. Part of me is sad. I always figured him for a fascist; he did win games though. The early rumor is he left over some conflicts with the current administration over the philosophy of how to do sports at Covenant. Funny, who'da thought there'd be conflicts with the new administration with how to do things? Crazy.
