The Only Thing I Have to Avoid When I Vote is Charles "The Serpentine Belt Guy"

Yet somehow, something like 60-70% of Iraqi's managed to show up to vote yesterday in the election. I suppose it takes a certain level of commitment to risk the bombs, mortars, rockets, and random assasinations in order to vote. Just think, in only a few generation they'll be jaded, overweight, and self-loathing just like every other democractice country! except for maybe India. Anyways, I think it's a beautiful thing. Self-government/empowerment is by no means a virtue without vices, but it's a heckuva lot better than most of the other options.

Good gravy. Anyone who thinks Gordon Clark was heretically broad in his embrace of Baptists would probably not enjoy my company.

I was just thinking last Sunday, "Wouldn't the best thing for the body of Christ be to have another separatist, hostile, and redundant 'reformed denomination?'"

And, praise Gaia, here you are!

I tell ya, it's things like this that challenge one's theology of the Holy Spirit.

I take comfort in the irrelevance and minimal influence cats like these will have. I still stress about these wacky sub-groups for some reason. I suppose the only thing we can really "do" about them is watchout for them and guard against them in our local churches.

The odd thing here is how he commented on a totally unrelated post. Theological comment spam?

I don't think we have to worry about these guys. They're only as significant as we make them. The Internet is just a giant megaphone for people with fringe ideas. In the real world, they don't carry very far.

If there's one thing we could all use more of it's a keen sense of our own irrelevance. I hear/read stuff like this every day as I walk down the street, and for some reason, everyone still thinks they're going to change the world. Well, they aren't.
