Max Hackett Is A Hack (an obvious pun)

I'm sure most folks in the Chattanooga area have at one time or another tuned in to the Max Hackett show, which replaced Jammer Radio. I'm also sure most of you were also quicky bored to death and quicky switch your radio back to 88.1 & Richard Winham.

So today while cruising 'round town picking up April's birthday present (today is her birthday, btw) during an 88.1 commercial I swithced over to 102.3 to immediately hear Max state that "The Pulse was only good for lining your cat box."

Of course, I'd love to know why Max thinks that to be the case, but he didn't give any reasons. Thankfully though he's not long for the afternoon slot on 102.3 His ratings are deplorable, most folks at the station don't much care for him, and he's pretty much taken what was once pretty much the most popular local radio show & time slot and driven it completely into the ground.

I suppose I should wish him the best in his job search one the time comes in a few weeks. So I do. The poor guy just wasn't cut out for radio; its just a shame he could flame some things worth flaming in his short stint.

Your comments on Maxx sound exactly like what you'd expect to hear from a little Art Fag Dilletante with Soft Hands who lives at home with his Mom.

Robert Nash, er, uh, I mean Bud Rose: I'll have you know I very much DO have soft hands.

Max is still out of a job and you still write for lame alt-weekly who's publisher and editor plagiarizes larges portions of his cover page articles.

Yeah....I bet WGOW hired Comrad Hackett to "balance" out the AM conservative side. Personally...I think Jeff Styles does that job pretty well (don't get me wrong...I'm a big fan of Jeff Styles and most of the WGOW team...the Morning Press, Village Idiots, and the Phil Hendrie Show kick arse).

Hello Josiah,

I wanted to tell you that I've been listening to Max for about 2 months now and, for the most part, enjoy his show. If I had to put a percentage on how much of Max's show/ideas I disagree with I'd put it at about 55%-70% on any given day, but I believe I understand where he comes from. As well, I believe he delivers his ideas sensibly and with little of the mouth frothing that I hear and see from so many left/right talking heads out here in media land. As far as his recent cut at "The Pulse," well I believe that may have simply resulted from his political leanings. I sincerely believe, putting aside politics, that "The Pulse" is twice the publication that "Enigma" (the publication Max insistaed outshines the aforementioned). It's not so much the politics that proves the superior publication (that's, for the most part, up to the readers) but the effort, standards, editing, copy-editing, and all that stuff. I have to hand it to "The Pulse"--they simply have superior writers over there. Even Bambi Evans, one that I seldom ever understand to any extent, is an articulate writer. So, all in all, I would say, Max is doing a pretty, damn good job and I hope they keep his show going. Take care.

I have listened to Max Hackett since he came back on the air at WGOW and I think his show is great. While I don't agree with everything he says, I think he is extremely fair in his discussions. Heard the discussion of "The Pulse" by Max Hackett and I thought he made some really good points. Rather than criticize Max, maybe "The Pulse" needs to hire him as an Editor. IMHO

I just love Max Hackett and have heard that his ratings are thru the roof and that WGOW is interested in offering him an extended contract. Just not sure what the Pulse actually is. Can't you asomething to line a cat box when you don't know what it is to start with.

We at the Pulse do it all the time. But we always use question marks for our queries.

I really enjoy listening to Max Hackett on WGOW. If you don't like him, why don't you just turn off the station? You sound like you are just a tool for Zack Wamp rather than someone with valid criticism.

From what I can gather there might be a total of 8 people who even have heard of this dude called Max Hackett. (if that's even his real name) Bill Lockhart fired this jackoff because of one thing --RATINGS. No wait, a total LACK of ratings. Maybe Max should change his last name to "Pad", at least he's have name recognition...
