Portugal is Spain's Canada

So April and I are here in Palm Bay, Floriday, for John Ottinger's wedding. Well, as of roughly 2:30, "Otter" is now a married man. It was a great wedding and dang long. They had the usual wedding service featuring a beautiful combination of Christmas and wedding decorations, then the reception, and then a second reception/dinner for out of town folks. When we left the second dinner at roughly 9:30 they were still there with fam & friends. A good idea I think. One thing I regret about my wedding was that we didn't get to spend more time with all the family and friends that came from out of town.

While down here we crashed at Otter's old apt. along with Erik & Joy Swanson, the gigolo Joel Swanson, Currie & Abby Bishop, Jessica Lamb, Jeremy & Ruth Cox (who are expecting, by the way), Chris Powers & his fiance Allison, & Becka Sotello. It's quite the crew. Right now I'm sitting on the balcony of Otter's apt. ganking wi-fi access from one of the half-dozen open networks in this complex.

Florida is an odd state. Far too flat and humid for my tastes, even now in the winter. I need mountains and big visual landmarks. I feel like I'm adrift at sea with no frame of reference. April on the other hand, being a good Louisianian native, loves it.

Tomorrow April and I will make the 11 hour trip back to Chattavegas, hopefully in time for evening worship at C-stone.

So to recap:

Otter is now married to a beautiful woman named Valerie.
Ruth Cox is pregnant.
Joel Swanson has become a gigolo.

addendum: there was no Sunday school post this week, but since I'm of town tomorrow, I will post last weeks Sunday school post this Monday. It's written and good to do, I've just got it in "draft."
