ATTENTION Chattabloggers!
Awhile back I started The Chattablog. I haven't had time to keep it going, and since it's become quite a beacon for spam (since I haven't been posting, I haven't been maintaining the blacklist) I've been thinking about just deleting it 'cause it's contributing to unecessary server load.
SO, unless a group of you out there want to start maintaining it, posting news and events etc. I'm gonna take it down. If enough folks though get behind it, I'll keep it going and stay on top of the blacklist.
NOTE: The Chattablog is not the same as Chattablogs. The Chattablog was a news site for Chattanooga.

Chattablog scored 550 on the Covenant DDR scale. That's worse than the blacklist itself. Hilarious.

Josiah, I'll help however I can, please don't delete it. If you end up having to, do we lose everything we've written? I don't have it saved anywhere.

Ryan, our new internet filter assigns pages DDR ratings for profanity so we now how bad it is when we get blocked. I have no idea what DDR stands for, but a 550 is pretty impressive.

It doesn't seem that anyone's de-spammed the comments on the Chattablog, so it should send red flags right up any filtering software you happen to be running.

Why don't you enable captcha imaging? Should take care of 90% of the spam.

Another good plugin for blogspam is MTClose2. It closes comments over X days old. I couldn't keep my blacklist updated quickly enough before I started using MTClose every few weeks.
It's a real nice-looking page and does the town proud. It would be a shame to lose it over a lack of interest.
