French Massacre Africans in Ivory Coast

If anyone has the wherewithall to create an edited version of the second video to get it down to a manageable size, perhaps they could perform the service and provide it to Josiah to host here? I worry that 100 megs is probably one reason more bloggers aren't covering this, as that's perhaps too large for most people to see.

I can't find anything on the context - even what the protest was about. I also don't know what exactly the situation has been like on the Ivory Coast and how the French are involved, why they are there, why they had tanks there, etc. Most of the protesters looked like college student age. Does anyone know what the context might be?

The shooting lasts an incredibly long time. Is that normal? It just kept coming, even after the crowds were dispersed. THe video makes it seem like, also, the wounded numbered in the several dozen.

I meant to put this, too - the video presents as much as ten who looked dead. One woman's head was completely destroyed - I didn't know a bullet could even do that to a person's head, to be honest. It looks like her head had exploded.

And it makes world-wide news when a US Marine shoots a terrorist who is a potential suicide bomber? They threaten us when we want to overthrow a dictator, but what the hell are they even doing on the Ivory Coast? Stabilizing the region? Doesn't look like stability to me.

Where are you seeing that French troops did this?

The source of the video is the Ivorian state media, a state who think that French are out to overthrow them. A government that has fired upon French troops already, and not a government that is worthy of trusting, esp in the light of this 'evidence'.

For their own part the French claim that Ivorian troops shot into the crowd, nothing in this video disproves nor proves this.

That video proves nothing either way. I suspect that it is heavily edited but in a way to retain a 'feel' of raw footage.

Question your sources, and rely only on your own eyes when something like this crops up.
