Why I like FNL better than Hoosiers is that in FNL they loose. They don't make it, and all the virtues extolled in Hoosiers are represented in FNL without added import of the victory. That is, one might think the virtuousness of the virtues of Hoosiers is that in the end they do win, when in FNL its virtues of brotherhood, teamwork, love, sacrifice, 110% are virtues encouraged in the face of an experiencing defeat.
Further, I like that FNL deals with the important tragic nature of sports, adding a much more thorough portrait of the whole thing.
Plus, the soundtrack is great.
That's all. Brain is a bit frazzled right now.
