Lest I Gain Any Ground...
Props to those of you in which it took a weekly post of me musing on spiritual things in the context of a Sunday School room to a. "respect me" or b. "realize Josiah gave a rip about spiritual things". One dimensional approaches to Christianity aside, there isn't a thing I care about or invest myself in that doesn't extend out of a vicious give and take wtih my Savior. And I mean everything, even those sinful things. Baseball, blogging, The Arcade Fire, my wife, Mesh, Sunday School, my intense hatred for the lukewarm PCA/OPC status quo, and my inability to get off my cynical a-- to do anything about it other than entertain the doubts that I'm wrong and that the airbrushed Chapelites are somehow right.
I think everything, everything has value whether than be in a evil sense or a good sense, and all value comes from Christ both particularly and ultimately (evil being the inverse). What bothers me is people who don't live their lives drunk on everything there is to do because of Christ, because the Sacred is right there waiting. Whether that's skateboarding, pouring concrete, preaching, or pitching game 6 on a blown ankle it's all right there to be done at 110%.
Of course it took me spending 35 minutes once a week spouting moralisms for people to think I even cared. I suggest your time might be better spent reading this, or maybe this, maybe . Heck, I hear you can signup now for 40 Days of Purpose.
I'll problem get all insecure about this post this evening and take it down. So enjoy it while you can.

Thanks for linking to Wild at Heart! That's some fine, manly reading you got there! Puts hair on my chest! Makes me want to hunt wild horses!
Have you read Christianity Today's profile of John Eldredge? You'll laugh at loud.
