Waugh!
my week works like a crescendo. most people are winding down on Friday's, I usually am going 180% come friday at the close of business. By the time I run out early at 5:30 to play poker I'm completely amped. Today is no different.
I must say it again, holy freaking crap is The Arcade Fire "Funeral" an amazing, amazing album. It's all I'm listening to. I think I'd be a happy man if I died having never heard anything else. I keep weirding out other folks in the office because I'll periodically start screaming its so good. Its like finally, finally somebody had taken the pure anthemic arena emotion rock of U2 at its best and combined with with indie-song writing genius with a hundred different influences and nuances. Its the sorta thing you could see 50,000 people singing at their top of the lungs, yet you could spend a lifetime dissecting all its little parts. No freshman band should be this good. There's just so, so much to appreciate. The little handclaps before the chorus kicks in, a tiny whistle announcing the bridge, every imaginable pop & symphonic trick is employed with gut wrenching emotion. Really, its all I could ask for in an album.
That is all.
