No Donnie, These Men Are Pricks
Andy R sent me this article from the Chattanoogan about a man attempting to kidnapp and steal a vehicle at the Pizza Hut in St. Elmo. Notice the name of the victim: "Jennifer Ross", which is NOT Andy Ross' wife.
But the thing that really gets me about the article is that after the woman flees and the State Trooper shows up to chase after the would-be kidnapper/thief; a few guys stroll up and steal the woman's purse from the truck while folks are distracted! These guys are pathetic people. I'm glad Ms. Ross is safe though.
The whole story does emphasize the importance of having more police presence at Pizza Huts, on busy streets, in business areas to protect us from car thefts & kidnappings. Because you never know when some wacko with a hankering for Chevy, Women, and pepperoni with extra cheese might be waiting for you. Yes, I'm being sarcastic.

I believe the correct line is "No, Donny, these men are cowards."

A friend of mine said that maybe the police presence should be bumped up in that area. Apparently the criminals are rampant, two crimes on one victim.

In other news.. my beautiful, $650 Sony CDX-M9900 was stolen from my car just this Monday. I was parked in the CitiPark garage on Chestnut and it happened sometime between 10:00 AM and 5:30 PM. They came in through the passenger-side door (with a broken lock) and took the thing clean out. They even took the electrical tape and straighted all the wires that were left in the dash--a very clean job...fuckers.
I still owe $450 on it, too.
