3 Note Fill
Today my Pod remote arrived. I was a bit dissapointed, because I was hoping it included the apple earbud headphones which are far more comfy than the headphones they included with my iPod. Ah well, I'll pick the earbuds up with next months entertainment budget pending wife's approval of course.
I've been listing to a fairly constant stream of The Shins, though The Arcade Fire has recently made headway into the Josiah Roe Airtime. They get two thumbs up, even though their from Montreal/Quebec/Canada, which is usually 3 strikes against you, but the Arcade Fire's album Funeral is about as hands down fascinating and pleasant to listen to as a BBQ sandwich from Porkers is to eat. Pretty much perfect in every way.
Back to the Shins. So Chutes and Inverted World are mesmerizingly good albums. But every, every single time I hit "New Slang" I loose all concentration on what I'm doing and I'm forced to zone out and drift with that irresistable whistle. It's just a whistle for Pete's Sake! Why is it oh so good! Why that one song?
I'm having to prep a brief 500 word article for The Pulse on why I'm voting for GW. In a break from the current political fashion, I'm not going to mention Kerry, at all. I just hope it will be thoughtful and edifying for all, even if one isn't "convinced" by my arguments I hope those who aren't will at least understand and respect where I (and I think others) are coming from.
Those of you who live in St. Elmo really need to start coming to the St. Elmo Improvement League (SEIL) meetings on the first monday of each month, 7 pm at the old St. Elmo Firehall (which is a dang cool building). Its our community, our neighborhood, and I think we all have a responsibility to help out or give input, and it is only one night a month.
Why I think the Sox will win: the Yanks have had everything, everything go their way this series thus far, and the Sox bats have been less than stellar. Once they start firing away, the Yanks pitching will fold, momentum will shift, and those glorious glorious Sox middle relievers will stem any force the Yanks can mount in response. And on an off crazy chance Schilling manages to pitch, well, there's another shot at a chip falling our way.
Finally, with recent elections coming up in Chattanooga a few candidates have gotten Chattablogs and are prepping them as useful campaign tools. So if any of you out there are either running yourself for election or know people who are, tell them to get a chattablog.

"Rebellion (Lies)" is my favorite single track or the year. OK, maybe it's second behind "Theologians," but still, it's close.

It is getting close to Thanksgiving so I thought I would mention that I was very thankful for Red Sox pitching. Pedro and Curt -- Thank you. You have been more than good to me this year. May the trend continue.

You're going down Friday. In poker and baseball.

Mesh I apologize but I will not be poker-ing it up this Friday. I hope your boys "cowboy up" Friday night.

Bummer. I was looking forward to some good-natured ribbing as we ante and listen to the game. Maybe next year...
