mi hijos?
Works a bit hectic. In the process of wrapping up a few new clients. This has kept me out of the blogosphere for the last week or so.
I've been spending a good bit of my free time working in Macromedia Studio MX 2004 Pro, including Flash MX. I've also been working a good bit in Photoshop. I spend my Sunday afternoons in Barnes n Nobles pouring over 3 inch thick "how to" manuals for said programs, along with the occasional design history or design philosophy book. I've put together two very small things, namely, the design for sanfranblogs and pittblogs. They're nothing fancy, but I think they work.
Oh, and I play poker.
Saw The Village last night. It was actually pretty dang great. I mean yes it was dang cheesy in parts & the dialogue stilted, but I have an excuse for at least one of those, which I wont share with you till after you see the film. It goes down as my "guilty movie pleasure of 2004".
Also, I'm excited about The Motorcycle Diaries. Every since I read Che: A Revolutionary Life I've been fascinated by the man. I mean, here's a guy, a jaded, somewhat priveledged kid who manages to actually live out all those young leftist "screw the man" fantasies I dreamed of when I was 19.
The film seems to deal primarily with the first big part of Che's life, namely when he cruised around South America on a motercycle with his best friend. Che claimed, and I'm certain that this will be one of the huge points of the film, that his travels around South America, seeing the masses of oppressed and impoverished people working in massive strip-mines for pennies a day, virtually enslaved was what first sparked his pro-proletariat, marxist, anti-western sentiments. What interests me about the movie the most though is the idea of two close friends just up and driving around an entire continent for a year.
back to work...

I was in a Cuban restaurant the other day, realized that it was 26 de Julio and started telling some people that I was eating with about the signifigance. My waiter gave me some dirty looks.
Come to think of it, there was something off about the platanitas.
