Further Seems Forever

It's been awhile since I bagged on the supposed "kings of emo" band Further Seems Forever. So today I give you a "FSF sucks in 3 parts" blog post:

1. Their website design seems a shameless knockoff of 90's post-alternative band Tonic's "Lemon Parade", except FSF likes the color blue more than yellow. Unintentional or no, Tonic themselves are a significantly embarassing enough band that somebody somewhere should have been making sure the new website design wasn't in any way affiliated or similar to a crappy 90's post-alterna band.

2. Lyrics.

The sound now turns to silence
But I keep spinning around
Naked in the rain of my own tears
As they fall into the bucket of your apologies
While closing everyone else's eyes
Because your own are shut
Not to see the volume rise again
from "The Sound"

3. Reviews

"Single-handedly revitalizing a genre is hard work, primarily because it can only be done the uphill way: with sincerity and credibility. Further Seems Forever, over the last four years, has been crossing the country in a van, playing music every night for the sheer love and their dedication to it. Founding member Chad Neptune is reluctant to describe their existence as a "dream", alluding to the fact that being a blue-collar; everyman rock band often is accompanied more by duty than excess. 'We're just normal people naturally doing what we love to do [and] pushing through the drama.'"

note: if you find yourself describing your band as a blue collar band, quit. Pick up a Springsteen or Wilco album and learn from the great "blue collar" bands. The Boss did not need his own "street team." If a majority of your audience are highschoolers wearing hoodies, vans, and rubber band bracelets, you are not a blue collar band.

You know, you're just begging for another one of those posts with an endless string of misspelled, spittle-flecked comments.

My wife and I saw a license plate that said "Antiemo." Sure, it was just as trendy, but we sympathized.

Yeah, you're right. But at least they're better than the lead singer's other band, Dashboard Confessional.

I've never been called a sexy beast before (or whatever it was you called me on Alanna's blog). Yeah, I finally saw that. Took me a while. I don't have the Internet right now. Sadness.
