Quick Clarification
After looking over my last post I realize I needed to clarify some things, in fact, REALLY needed to clarify things. I believe:
1. What has occured at Abu Ghraib is wrong
2. Some of what has been reported having occured at Abu Ghraib is evil.
3. Some of what has occured, but by no means all, is frat-boy shennanigans.
4. I want to understand the greater context of the pictures, the who, the what, the where, and the why before making blanket statements and deriving conclusions from events at Abu Ghraib
5. Though probably unintentional the events at Abu Ghraib dig at Arabic/Islamic sexual mores, this does not in ANY extext excuse said actions (you'd have to be a loon to think so)

Not to jump into the middle of things, but this is a WAR. Different rules apply. Not that they excuse behavior, but the prison abuses are nothing new -- and not exclusive to us.
Perhaps digital photgraphy and lightning-fast media is (finally) giving us a glimpse of how war -- and how people act during it -- has ALWAYS been.
