Cornbread, Johnny Cash, Lookouts, & Fireworks

April and I had a great weekend. On Saturday post dressage lesson April & I cruised up to South Pittsburg for the National Cornbread Festival. It was an amalgam of all the things lovely and annoying in the South, including "The Passion" t-shirts, mullets, kettle-corn straight from the kettle, and 9 year old girls singing Johnny Cash songs with her 70 year old grand-dad.

I wish I had a picture of the little girl to post for you guys. I took a few with Jeff's digital camera and hopefully I'll be able to post it soon. But it was pretty dang beautiful, this little girl singing with an old bluegrass band, not a guy under 65 in the group. Those are the times that I love living in the South.

Oh, and cajun chicken on a stick. What a brilliant idea.

Then April & I went out to dinner with the Holtons, Katie McGee, and J-Steele. Afterwards we hit a Lookouts game. There we got Mesh to get a haircut. Yes, it's wierd, haircuts at a ballpark. Again, I'll hopefully have some pictures soon.

Then fireworks.

Then Clumpies.

In my mind its hard to map out a better day. I suppose I should also mention that the weather was Tennessee-Spring perfect.

When I worked at the lookout inn, the manager (Phil) took me to a Lookouts game. He got his hair cut. He only likes to have his hair cut at Lookouts games. He doesn't like barbershops.

Yeah. The Channel 12 van always seems to corner me coming out of Winn-Dixie. I never bother to watch. How was my hair?
