Thunderbird, Prank Calls, & Geophphrie
I received a call this morning at 3 a.m. from some guy named Frank, who paves driveways or something, that really wants to play pool at the table on the left 'cause the balls roll towards the left pocket 'cause the left pocket is his favorite pocket. He also wants wings. My money is that this is the infamous John Totten or mebbe Chris. I swear I heard Mesh laughing in the background.
My boss Geophphrie Cross has got himself a blog.
I've made another big software switch, from Outlook to Thunderbird. Man, is it a change. Thankfully Thunderbird was able to import my massive archive of e-mails, including folder structure which I use to organize my life. I have stuff that 5 years old, and I'm pushing 'round 20K - 30K in e-mails at my best estimate.
Some things are confusing though. Outlook lets you dump all e-mail accounts into one inbox, and then run your sorting from there. I liked that. Thunderbird, as far as I can tell, is pardigmatically operating on a unique inbox for each e-mail account and then parsing out your e-mail messages at that point. But heck, I'm an utter n00b with Thunderbird and I feel I had fairly mastered Outlook, so y'all who use Thunderbird feel free to kick me some tips.
The big thing I wish Thunderbird had out of the box is a decent calendar. I'm scrambling to find a replacement, quickly.

I've been looking to get out of OE for a while and gave Thunderbird a test, but wasn't won over. It didn't seem to offer anything to offer anything earth-shaking over OE, and the one inbox per account was unwieldy. There's probably ways to work around all that, but I don't have time to find it all.
Just my $.02.
