You Remind Me of a West-Side Story
I have no idea sometimes how these songs got on my computer, but "Maria Maria" is a silly, silly song.
Onwards, V-Day was a good day. April & I had dinner at The Boathouse, which had great food and an incredible location, but the floor was poorly run. Our waitress had an 8 table section, which was completely absurd and we had reservations for 7, and we didn't sit till 'around 7:30. What's the point of getting reservations if you can't sit when you arrive? There were a few other small things, like the fact they served our wine in a Heineken bucket & our Tobasco sauce bottle was both empty and left with its cap off when we sat.
These are little things of course, but in my mind they're the things that divide "good" restaurants from the "superb" ones. Of course, The Boathouse is run by the same folks that did The Canyon River Grill, which I always thought had great food and a great atmosphere, but it just lacked some of the, well, refinement and careful eye that would make it a true top-notch restuarant tucked away in the hills.
I got April these for V-Day. Not that exact pair, but the same perl & diamond combination. Yes, I have a jeweler. Her name is Phyllis and she works at Fischer-Evans across from Loveman's on Market Street. She helped me get this also.
In a brilliant ego-stroking move, April got the article the TFP did about Chattablogs & Me framed. That was my V-Day gift, and its hanging in my temporary office till Coptix moves. I'm not taking applications to be members of my Little Lebowski Urban Achievers.
In other news Rye-Dawg, visit his Rye-Blawg here, has now joined our tuesday night small group. He bring's a certain northeast affluent element to the group which contrasts wonderfully with the South-Florida Jewish element in Mesh.
April & I are also moving at the end of the month. We found a great little place on near 42nd Street on St. Elmo Ave (though we got access in the back). We're quite excited about moving out of our roach infested slum apartment run by one of Chattanooga's permier slum-lord companies, Coppage Enterprises. The laundry-list of problems we've had that haven't been fixed is only exceeded by the number of times my truck has been broken into and had nothing stolen from it (because they'res nothing it in to steal).
Anyways, we move on the first of March. Which will be nice. We'll have a washer & dryer & a dishwasher. I hate doing dishes more than anything, so I'm rather excited about getting that dishwasher.
