Chattablogs in the Paper
All of you need to swing by your local Golden Gallon or newstand and pickup the latest copy of The Times Free Press.
Turn to the technology section.
I think I was able to find the article online, sorta. The TFP uses this wierd "active paper" program or something. Anyways, try it here. For that interface, the article is on page 27/40 so you'll hafta type that in.
And for the quick record, there's a quote in there where I state that the internet is an information free-for-all with no way to trust your sources and stuff like that. What I actually meant to say is that bloggers are vicious about keeping each other in check, and that I think it's a "bum rap" that the "internet" as a source of information is a misnomer and that it's all about where on the internet you find your information. You can *trust* cnn.com etc.
We also get 'round 500,000 hits a month, not in one year.
So, you know, go get a paper so you can look at my mug super-imposed on the chattablogs.com mainpage.

Well, you can trust the Communist News Network online as much as you can trust it on the telly.

dontchya know that hits are a useless, deceiving stat nowadays? I page with 19 images on it registers 20 hits per page view. page views and visits are much more telling.
fyi, you can download a pdf of the paper (under features at the top middle) and/or read the text of the article under features on the left. featurific!

I just finished reading the article and it's really good. Not some of the usual crap people associate with weblogs....very glad they didn't go with the diary/LiveJournal lede. Great photo, BTW.
Maybe you can ask Clint if you can republish the article on Chattablogs?

Yes Bobw, I'm aware of that, but I was concerned for factual correctness. In terms of traffic I was most interested in the 30K+ unique visitors to chattablogs a month. And yes, I'm aware the unique viewers can be slightly deceiving in it's own right, hence you look at all *relevant* stats, such as # of visits (up around 100K), page views (200K), and unique visitors (30K).
But, you know, I appreciate *cough* *cough* the lesson.

darn this text based interaction! didn't mean to come across as "let me learn you somethin" but I guess I did. sorry. try as I might to avoid it, the 3hd arrogance has seeped into my blood. ok it was there already, but gotta have something to blame, right?
and kudos on the nice writeup.

It's ok Bobw. I'm sorry, I was being sensitive. It's all cool. I keep wondering if I'll get Coptix arrogance, but I'm thinking right now the only thing folks 'round here are really arrogant about is flexible hours and organic foods.
