Flotsam & Jetsam X15

Tonight we'll be doing dinner with Andy & Jennifer & Gosey & Joy Lynn. Should be fun times. Not sure if we'll stay there afterwards or head over to Isaacs. Either way it'll be a good evening. I'm looking forward to making martinis.

Scored a sweet wireless keyboard & mouse combo. It's glorious. Ergonomic & quiet key with extra buttons and all sorts of other goodies.

Started watching the first season of the West Wing last night with Mesh. Got through the first three episodes. I've only seen shows from later seasons and it's good to know that cheesy The American President style moments (sweeping music, gushy liberal bla bla bla) become fewer and far between, or at least saved for deserved moments. Dont' get me wrong, my offense isn't that the moments are liberal per se, it's just that they're, well, silly.

I'm really digging on Morphine's "In Spite Of Me".

Work has been crazy. We're overwhelmingly busy. I could do 12 hour days if I wanted and still go home feeling like I hadn't gotten enough done. It's nice working for a company that's doing really well and is on the up in up.

I'm gonna get a new work desk. Believe it or not, Wal-Mart has a decent looking desk available right now for 'round $50 bucks. Ryan bought one. It looks great. Place for 3 computers, a couple of monitors, and lots of table space. Now if I can just get Lang, Andy, Joseph, & Jennie to follow suit.

Been reading through the Silmarillion, again. It's been a few years. Amazing how much stuff I never caught the first time around. They're really sad sad books, especially if you've read some of the Unfinished & Lost Tales that put more detailed worked out stories behind some of the major characters. Tolkien sure did his best to pull every dang theme or story archtype into his world. Sam Gamgee like characters are all over the place. It's difficult to find a major character along the way that didn't have a "sidekick" who sacrificed completely for his friend.

And Sauron was a pansy compared to Morgoth.

I am really looking forward to hanging tonite. I have been pretty worthless today at work, just looking forward to some gaming tonight with the boys. It has also made me less generous to the endless customers coming in to beg for refunds. Oh well, only two more hours...
