I'm Gonna Love You Just a Little More, Baby
Yes, this blog post title and the last are taken from Barry White songs.
Wanted to point out that my Wolverines are now ranked 4th in the BCS, having won the Big 10 and a trip to the Rose Bowl. Could be something more, just mebbe, if USC looses against Oregon State (not likely), and LSU looses against Arkansas and/or Georgia in the SEC Championship (likely, especially if Georgia makes it to the SEC championship).
So I'm thinking my Wolverines will finish out the year 3rd in the nation overall, having won the Rose Bowl against whomever. I'd love to see USC drop for Michigan to play them in the Rose Bowl. That'd be great. I sure hate USC.
I'm happy with the season, but only, if only Michigan hadn't lost to either Iowa or Oregon. We'd be up there at #2 and whoopin' up on Oklahoma in the Sugar Bowl. The boys in Maize n' Blue sure pulled out a great season after those losses though. What a run.

I think you're underestimating your boys.
Let's assume for a moment that LSU does indeed fall to Georgia in the Dome, and that USC whoops up on the Oregon State Beavers. (BTW, I once spent a summer with the president of the OSU Student Alumni Association, and he taught me all the school's "Beaver Cheers." You really should ask for a rendition the next time I've been drinking.) Then USC plays the Sooners in the title game. As long as the game isn't close, and especially if Oklahoma just slaughters USC, then the losing team would fall to no better than number 3. And if Michigan dominates the Rose Bowl (ESPN sez "the top possibilities for Michigan's opponent are Texas, LSU and Tennessee," and your 'Rines would beat up on all 'dem), and there's an open spot above the National Championship loser, well then...
Michigan finishes at #2. That's my prediction. And remember, I've been right about these things before, as a certain carton of Camel Lights will attest.

If Michigan plays LSU and beats them handily, and then OU tears USC apart (as they are quite likely to do), I see no other option but for Michigan to finish second. However, if LSU ends up playing elsewhere and wins, it would appear that Michigan may be 'doomed' to a #3 finish.
And I seem to recall Mesh showing me and Julian those 'Beaver Cheers' last fall as we were finishing the evacuation of the hall. I remember feeling a mixture of awe and terror as I witnessed them.
