10 cents up, 3 bucks down
Today is my first day at Coptix. It's gone quite well. It's a true testament, in my opinion, to the geek spirit that the first three hours of your first day at a comp sci company is spent:
a. socializing around talking about setting up your computer
b. plotting ways in which incoporate even more random gadgets into your already capable system
c. somehow managing to end up plugged into three computers via KVM
Nobody even mentioned papework. Of course that all got taken care of, but not until the afternoon, at by that point simply felt like a necessary, nearly irrelavent, evil.
I really enjoyed the working at home thing. But it's good to back in an "office", with a bazillion projects and little things to take care of, plus somebody brought a bag of Milky Way candy bars. Oh, there was also a stray Diet Coke in the fridge that I got. Those two things are enough to keep me happy all day.
One bizarre thing is that I keep getting dive-bombed by ladybugs. I think Andy talked 'bout that awhile back.

you mean Jeff didnt make you do lawnwork? That used to be required on the first day. sheesh he's gotten soft.
