New Job

Whelp, it's official now. I've turned in my two weeks notice at Genesis. My boss was really great about it all. He's a really good guy and I'm really appreciated of the time I spent working with him. My new job is at, tada! Coptix where I believe I'll be working as a project manager more or less, getting to do a little programming, a little organizing, and a little interfacing with the clients. I'll pretty much get to do what I do on the side now: moving and shaking, making stuff happen, digging up business, and getting to do a little coding and a little designing.

Andy n' Lang work there also, so it'll be nice getting to work with friends. Nick does also, but he's in Indiana and doesn't want people to know that we're friends. My commute though to work will increase from a 20 second walk to my desk to a 2 minute drive down the street a few blocks. Boy, that'll be rough.

For Terrablogs/Chattablogs it'll be nice because I'll be working for/with the folks who are actually doing the hosting. I'm hoping this will translate into even better service for y'all, so eventually, if something goes wacky, I can just cruise down to the office (or secure shell in) and fix it, instead of calling Lang and harassing him at 3 in the morning (though this has never happened).

As the "Roe Fam" our hopes is that after I/we get settled at Coptix, she'll mebbe drop to a part-time job come the spring and start taking a few math/finance classes in preparation for her GMAT. After that we're thinking that she might persue a Masters in Economics or maybe start into the CFA program.

All that to say, this new job is a real answer to prayer in many ways, so here's my public statement of thanks to the Lord.

Now I need to go register my truck. The tags are expired, as of last July. They'd better let me keep my Mothers Against Drunk Driving license plate.

Coptix seems like a good place to work, just judging by how well they're doing at hosting your blog empire.
