Below the Belt

Constructed or whatever here. I'm adding all this extra text 'cause for the life of me I can't seem to figure out how to get pictures to showup in my blog entries. It just doesn't make any sense. I wonder if it's something to do with my 3 column design. I just dunno. If you've got ideas, well, kick them to me.

Hmmm. . .I'm using the three-column as well, but mine show up fine.

Are you talking about uploaded pics or linked pics?

strange.
if you refresh it shows up for just an instant. so it seems as if it's behind your white background. can you change the z-order of stuff?
while we're on the subject: is there a reason you've got a freakin HUGE image in the background? it makes your blog a little choppy, especially when you scroll.

Whenver you "float" an element, it gets removed from the document flow. In other words, a floated image will not count as "content" in the calculation of how big its containing "blogbody" box should be.

To put it another way, if you just put an image in your "blogbody" box, the blogbody will expand to contain the image. If you float that same image, the box will ignore it and shrink to the size it would normally have.

Annoying as this might be at times, this is the accurate behavior for float. Some versions of IE will screw this up (floated elements are considered by their containers) and, ironically, give the designer what they want.

One possible solution is giving your blogbody boxes a "min-height" property. Another option, and probably better, is to take your footer into at the bottom of each post and use a "clear" property set to "both." That will force it to appear below any floated material and expand the container to normal size.

I don't know if that's the entire problem, but it's at least part of it.
