Representin' fo Da Gangsta's All 'Cross Da World
Today Jeff & I are spinnin' a mix of Tu-Pac, Dr. Dre, and Snoop Dogg, gettin our fill of west-side rap, since you know, Jeff & I be west-side. Jeff had the great idea of performing some of the songs as spoken word at the next folk festival. Me, I really just wanna rap "da state where da bomb ass hemp be."
In that spirit, I want to give you what I think is the best rap song ever. I performed this recently at a Safari Pub karoake night along with Hendrix' "Foxy Lady." It's Young MC's "Bust A Move."
April & I watched The Good Girl last night with Jennifer Anniston. Anniston was incredible. Better than her Dad. Jake Gyllenhall was of course, great. It's a freaking dark & messed up movie, so for those of you who believe Disney movies are the only acceptable films to watch under the regulative principle of home-film viewing, well, you should stay away.
Founder skit night was last night. Important for we Catacombs folks for many reasons, a central one being that its an opportunity for everyone last one of us to be in an awesome super-hero battle.
This year's broke with many of the old forms. The worst of which being that an entire other guys hall was in the skit, and of course in the end they broke with the script and screwed up the ending. So it was kinda stupid. I'm two years gone. I shouldn't, like Mesh says, care. But in my time we did our best to drag every last alumni we could get into a skit. This year you had to ask. I did get disembowled this year with my guts (ketchup & some bizarre salad mix) strewn all over the audience. That was cool. Except I've still yet to shake the strange odor of ketchup & balsalmic vinegrette from my mid-section. It's nothing against Todd, the man's got an incredible vision for...well, anything really, but I'm looking forward to the creative reins returned back to folks who, well, live on the hall.
Oh, if you're a sucker like me for Vampire anything, go see Underworld. Ya, it's stupid, but it's Vampires vs. Werewolves! One of these days I'm gonna sit down with me homies and actually write a decent vampire/werewolf/necromancer film that really plays off all the strengths of that mythology, and well, actually uses the mythology. Mesh found it funny because it ended up being a blatant marxist class struggle between the Werewolves & the Vampires. Me, I just wish I could look good in skin tight leather, and Holton just wishes he had gotten more popcorn & soda.

I'm telling you, my screenplay for "The Reluctant Vampire" is going to rock your world.
I didn't say you shouldn't care about the skit, just that you shouldn't let it bother you so much. Remember, you can smoke cigarettes now. In public. That's gotta be worth something, even if you can't affect the 'Combs much anymore.

"bust a move" is tight, but i can't help but thinking that "the humpty dance" tends to grab me more "in the biscuits."

We thought "the Good Girl" was great, too. I liked the fact that marriage and its associated vows carried weight and value, and were not damaged without consequence. Also, Tim Blake Nelson was a creepy bastard.

Yeah, that was a little bizarre how Five Points actually _won_ the superhero battle. Ah well, it was still an enjoyable experience for us in the audience.

Late, but relevant: Don't stop trying to affect the combs, cus it's the underground traditionalism that keeps Covenant rolling despite the addmissions department being run by only Carter peeps. Battle on!
