Flotsam & Jetsam X8
Haven't blogged in a couple days, despite a wealth of things to report on including a hilarious discussion over on Ryan's blog 'bout marriage. I think it's an important thing, unmarried folks pontificating about marriage. It provides humor for the rest of us.
Well, what's been absorbing my time today has been a project for work and another blogging portal: Vermontblogs. It's pretty much finished, except I'm waiting on dear Krueger to answer my IM and get me the .htaccess password I need. Enough techie junk, why Vermontblogs might you ask? Well, I've gotten alot of feedback from the Howard Dean Bloggers that they'd love to get off Blogger and onto something better. Well, I said "Sure, how 'bout I setup Vermontblogs, which happens to be the state where Howard Dean was governor?" The response was positive. So, well, thereya go.
Next in the pipe is bostonblogs, NSAblogs, and nycityblogs.
And finally, I recommend to you two things:
1. Blogdigger. It's hands down the best blog search engine I've come across yet. Plus the guy who started has a blog on baltiblogs, so check it out and submit your blog.
2. Diet Coke

Singles blogging about marriage is almost as funny as Gentiles blogging about anti-semitism. Those are good times.

1. Diet coke is one of the cornerstones of all that is good and holy (along with Cracker Barrel)
2. You can kiss my single white ass with your married smugness (I say this with love (ok not hate (ok kiss my single ass married man)))

how do you register with blogdigger? i couldn't figure out what to put for site link (the blog's url?) and RSS link (no idea what that is).

I suspect many of the single people who read your blog know a lot more about marriage than a lot of married people out there do. Perhaps that's one of the reasons they're not married: because they have high standards.
(This doesn't apply to me, of course: I'm just not married because I only get asked out by guys who say things like, "I've been married twice before. How 'bout you, baby?" or, "Do you like drag-racing?" That's my excuse.)

Thanks for the link and the kind words!
If anyone has any questions about how to get in with Blogdigger, please email me at greg @ blogdigger.com. I'll be happy to help.
Matthew: in answer to your question, the site link is the link to you blog's HTML home page (http://mattew.chattablogs.com/), the Site Title is whatever the name of your blog is (no recession) and the RSS Link is the address that is given when you click on your "Syndicate This Site (XML)" link from your blog home page (in this case http://www.chattablogs.com/matthew/index.rdf). We're working on making this simpler.
Let me know if you have questions!

By NSAblogs, do you mean New St. Andrews blogs?
Posted by: the booth at September 25, 2003 12:16 AM
Why yes, yes I do!

Hmm. Didn't mean to pontificate. Did I? (All natural and unnatural insecurities are now showing up. But it's Thursday and my girlfriend is coming to town tomorrow! Time to forgo some of those insecurities.)

LOL...I have tears rolling down my face over here from that...Christin, are they really that forward? Drag-racing? C'mon, you aren't serious...I hope.

Sadly, James, it is true.

Do you like drag racing?
Posted by: mesh at September 25, 2003 10:24 AM
In a word: NO.
Posted by: Christin at September 25, 2003 10:59 AM
I like drag racing, of a sort. I like both the racing of people IN drag, and the racing to GET in drag. A particular catacombs instatiation of this was the implicit race to find the best-looking outfit after we stole ever last peace of clothing off a girls hall the first week of school during chapel.
It was scary just how good Lang looked in a little black Gucci.
