Dashboard Confessional
Big fans Vincent and Lowen Howard (soon to have a blog here) turned me on to the new Dashboard Confessional album, "A Mark, A Mission, A Brand, A Scar." They also said this exclusive performance at Rolling Stone shouldnt' be missed.

I liked their first album when it came out a couple years ago, but it grew old quickly and I lost interest. Maybe I'll give the new one a try.
But beware, any hipster worth their thirft store tshirt will say Dashboard is not only old news, but pure evil. ;)

I know John. That's why I have my suspicions about V&L Howard Inc.
I also stumbled across this guy who seems to be a big Chris Carabba fan also.
Posted by: JosiahQ at August 7, 2003 10:28 AM
I suspect the brothers Howard of f***ing with you. I mean, Chris Carabba? "Your hair, it's everywhere"? C'mon.
Posted by: mesh at August 7, 2003 11:29 AM
I'm telling you dude, their really big fans. I think he's their hero or something.
Posted by: JosiahQ at August 7, 2003 11:56 AM
Not knowing these guys personally, I wonder if Carabba is their hero because the chicks are drawn to him in hordes?
Posted by: John at August 7, 2003 12:04 PM
i think josiah is full of shit. theres just no way the howards like that guy. theyre like upper echelon hipsters (i dont mean that in a bad way, like some). i think they write for pitchfork media.
Posted by: dp at August 7, 2003 01:59 PM
Hey, I just report the news, I don't make it.
Posted by: JosiahQ at August 7, 2003 02:01 PM
Chris Carabba is a whiner.
Posted by: ryan at August 7, 2003 02:06 PM
OK.
Posted by: mesh at August 7, 2003 02:28 PM
isn't it Karabba?
Posted by: Eb at August 10, 2003 11:38 PM
i think that u all are crazy, dashboard rules!
Posted by: Carly at September 15, 2003 11:34 AM
well, that settles it. Carly has spoken. No, wait, Dashboard sucks. I'll bet those are rub-on tattoos, too.
Posted by: gosey at September 15, 2003 12:01 PM
ahaha omg u are so ridiculous! o that was a good one. well i guess that the only way to make you feel good is to put someone down, thats real classy, especially because you dont know him...wow, the immaturity really shows.
Posted by: Carly at September 15, 2003 12:21 PM
...and i didnt say that you have to like him, hes obviously to refined for some people... all im saying is my opinion on it, and that i think that you are being so ridiculous, actually its quite comical because your like trying to win ppl over or something, like theres a fight or something, whatever, grow up is all im saying..."gosey"...ahaha what a joke...
Posted by: Carly at September 15, 2003 12:34 PM
How was class today at Lebanon Intermediate Unit 13?
Posted by: JosiahQ at September 15, 2003 01:02 PM
People underestimate the pleasure inherent in putting someone down, especially if that person cannot punctuate. It's quite theraputic, really.
Making fun of someone's perfectly lovely last name, however, is rotten. And poor judgement, when all his friends populate the same cyberspace.
You can be my wingman anyday, Gose.
Posted by: mesh at September 15, 2003 02:32 PM
Thanks Mesh. I guess I just lack the capacity to appreciate generic punk-pop from a preppy guy tattooed heavily from the elbows down. Oh well, I guess I'll just go cry in the corner.
Posted by: gosey at September 15, 2003 03:40 PM
You should sit alone and wonder how I'm making out.
Posted by: mesh at September 15, 2003 03:43 PM
I figured you were with anybody, anywhere, and that the bottle of beast would take you home. If not, see if Tater can give you a ride.
Posted by: gosey at September 15, 2003 04:03 PM
you can't deny that the guy is f**king hot though. And even if you don't care for his style...he is a poet. More than could be said for any of you sh*ttheads.
Posted by: Heather at September 22, 2003 10:56 AM
besides, how do you know all the lyrics anyway? Its not really on the radio all that much...
Posted by: Heather at September 22, 2003 10:59 AM
It will be exciting one day when Dashboard's lyrics are studied along with Robert Frost and Shakespeare, won't it? Oh wait, Frost and Shakespeare might not have been "f**king hot" so they probably don't count.

Something there is that doesn't love a wall,
That sends the frozen-ground-swell under it,
And spills the upper boulders in the sun,
And makes gaps even two can pass abreast.
Your hair, it's everywhere.
Screaming infidelities
And taking its wear.
[Repeat Four times]

Heather: check out lyrics.com, or any one of about a million other sites that list song lyrics, for fast access to the words for just about any tune you can think of with only a few mouse clicks. That's the Magic Of The Internet.
Also, "sh*thead" has only one "t."

I blame Google.
Posted by: John at October 2, 2003 10:59 AM
um... "gosey" is it? im sorry, but why would you spend time on line looking up songs you hate? Im sure we are all wondering...and im also sure that this John person is probably really ugly. Why dont you send us all a picture? Who could be to blame for such idiotic remarks? Who knows....
Posted by: Heather at October 16, 2003 04:21 PM
Who the hell is "Robert Carabba?" What is he talking about?
Posted by: Heather at October 16, 2003 04:24 PM

Hey Nick, what's going on man? Sorry, i'm all married and stuff now. you missed your chance.
Posted by: gosey at November 26, 2003 03:01 PM
Hey, congrats on getting married and stuff. Who's the lucky lady?
I have joined the ranks of Robert Illman and Tim Rowe and decided to attend law school--in my second year, at UofH (Houston, not Hawaii).
Just off hand, does anyone know how Hancock is doing?

I apologize for the Dashboard fans of the world. It is embarassing that he/they is/are being championed by millions of prepubescent girls in trucker hats. Not all of his fans are idiots who can't punctuate or tell the difference between its and it's.
His words do flow remarkably well, however. While bordering on the whiny, his music is heartfelt and lyrical. It does, however, also grate the nerves sometimes. It depends on one's mood, I suppose.

I just wanted to say that d/c is an awesome band who worked their way up and never changed their style to get fans, they are true musicians. The lyrics to the songs are so personal yet everyone can relate. Thanks for making your music from the bottom of my heart. keep rockin forever!
Posted by: Nicole at August 9, 2004 02:13 PM
I used to be a very large DC fan, I still enjoy their music privately because of what Ashley said, "I apologize for the Dashboard fans of the world. It is embarassing that he/they is/are being championed by millions of prepubescent girls in trucker hats. Not all of his fans are idiots who can't punctuate or tell the difference between its and it's."
It was like she was talking to me personally. But, what Nicole said is totally insane, have you heard their last CD? Why do you think Chris plays an electric guitar now and has 3 other guys behind him? D/C has TOTALLY changed, and for the worst. It's Chris' lyrics that keep me listening.
Posted by: Nick Echeverria at September 10, 2004 04:33 PM
