like rabbits...

My dear friend Ben Horner who is the head of graphic design at 3HD, now has a blog. It's called "Can I Change This."

I first met Ben when we were both interns at 3HD: I in programming, Ben in design. I went back to school and Ben kept working. Ben now runs a department, and I only work partime doing the occasional contract job. I am jealous of Ben and his talents. He knows this.

Ben hated me at first. Rightly so. Since then we've slowly gotten to be friends, largely because of our mutual friend Andy. Ben designed my/our wedding invite. It was awesome. Ben and I are now in the same smallgroup, which includes Lang, Andy, and Mesh.

Lang now too has a blog called "Maleficent Distraction." I wonder if he's spelled "Maleficent" wrong. Should it be "Maleficient" Distraction? I dunno. Lang was my first RA at Covenant, and one of my two best men in my wedding, the other being Mesh.

That Lang has a blog is a testimony to me that pre-existing relationships and communities can find healthy virtual manifestations in cyberspace (virtual...cyberspace, redundant?) It's also proof that cynicism can be defeated. Hopefully Lang will put down in "writing" much of the good stuff he has to say about life and whatnot, so at least he can be held accountable/given credit for it all.
