Flamers
I have a confession to make. I love Will and Grace. For those of you who have seen this show you know that it revolves around the friendship of two homosexual men, one unhappily married mid-life female drunkard, and a red-headed Jewish chick. All of them behave vaguely sexual to each other.
I think it is funny, brilliant satire. Who comes up with lines like, "Sorry fruit, you're out of the loop!" Or (as Jack sets fire to what he is cooking) "Honey, there are already too many things flaming in here." From what I understand, the show is supported by the gay community.
I can't decide whether there is anything really wrong with watching this show. But if you want to check it out, reruns come on FOX every night at 7 PM.

It's easily the funniest sitcom on television, hands down. And I think the homosexual angle has a lot to do with that. Most of the sharpest written wit I'm seeing in today's culture is emerging from that community. (The songs of Stephin Merrit come to mind as another example: "I know Professor Berman/makes you feel like a woman/but when the wind is in your hair/you laugh like a little girl.")

I love it too. Karen is probably my favorite character, though. She's so nasty in such a hilarious way. And as you mentioned, the writers really know how to turn a phrase.

Hollie started watching it, and I ended up liking it. I, too, "think it is funny, brilliant satire." I can't see why there's anything more wrong with watching it than, say, Seinfeld, which has recurring humor about promiscuous, albeit usually straight, sex. And if someone thinks there's something wrong with watching Seinfeld, he/she and I are on completely different planets.
