Eratta

Man, last night I had this great post in mind, but I sorta have this rule that I'll never blog more than twice in one day. Behind that is the idea that people will keep reading my blog if it always has something new, but always something manageable, that is, they can come, read my blog, and feel they ingested everything new. I don't want them to come and find nothing, nor do I want them to come and find more stuff then the average attention span can subsume in a few minutes.

But given all that, I didn't blog, and I forgot what I was gonna post. Just know that it was gonna be great.

Anyway, Chattanooga has had some crazy weather these last couple of days. Power is out all over town. Oddly, our street in St. Elmo happens to be the only part of St. Elmo that actually has power. The Chattanoogan has a geat article about all this here.

April is out right now getting her new social security card with Alyssa, and looking for an open gas station to by smokes. We finally got our marriage license in the mail. Turns out our mailman wasn't delivering our mail because we had left an old couch out by the road for the garbage folk to pick up, and the mail man was too lazy to get out of his truck to put the mail in our box. He had to drive up. Smacktard.

Other good news is that Chattablogs hit it's tenth blog today. Her name is Sarah Christin, and her blog is Verbingnouns. And it's some good, good stuff.

We're right off St. Elmo Ave. and our power flickered but was never off for more than a minute or two at a time, and the flickering was only for 30 minutes to an hour. It was a pretty wild storm though. The weather here has been crazy, especially over the past month, and in February, which was completely miserable.

John,

Where in St. Elmo do you live? I'm on 5201 Alabama.

Posted by: JosiahQ at June 12, 2003 02:50 PM

Right around the corner - 1606 West 53rd.

Isn't the internet wild? I can't remember how I discovered your blog since I'm an avid link-surfer, but it's just crazy to think that I'm reading the website of someone 2 blocks from my house. We probably know people in common since my brother goes to Covenant.

Heh heh heh...the cruelly funny thing is that
the mailman has no idea he's being maligned on the internet.

Hey Josiah,

I hope your honeymoon went well. I don't have your E-mail so I am just posting on here. My mom bought me a gift certificate for a facial. I just got that done today, it was pretty nice and I got to learn a few things. I have been thinking about what I will do for my sip and doing some stuff for my dad and working for vector. Married life sounds good, maybe in a few years or something.

Who knows, though? Two weeks from now the mailman might Google "mailman St. Elmo" and find this page. That would really be something.

The guy was really creepy too. I waited outside for him the other day. The guy looked like he was coming off a 5 day menth binge.

AND of course. He didn't deliver the mail today again! I found out that our little section of Alabama Ave. is the last stop for him on his route. I bet he just bails at the end of the day. Ridiculous.

Sounds like New Orleans. Sometimes our mailperson (it varies b/n a man and a woman) dumps all the building's mail into our box. Sometimes we get mail for 4125 General Pershing, when we're 4125 Fontainebleau (I'm mystified how one can confuse a two word street name that begins with G and P with a one word street name that begins with F). Sometimes we get mail for 4215 Fontainebleau...little dyslexic there, maybe. Anyway. Sometimes we don't get it at all. But everyone has that problem. new Orleans! 3rd World and Proud of it!

I wonder what their routes look like because I always see our mailman come down 53rd from Alabama. Maybe it's a different guy.
