Animatrix, More Bloggers, & Lemon

Some things:

April turned me on to this thing of putting lemon in your water. It's good. It supplements my steady intake of Diet Coke quite nicely.

I finally watched all of the Animatrix. Quite an impressive anime tour de fource, no Miyazaki collection, but still a great deal of fun.

And I'm oh so please to tell y'all that some new bloggers have entered blogdom (and my blogroll), two very close friends of mine and people I'm sure you'll want to check in on very often.

The first is my best friend Aaron Mesh's blog: Wired Mesh. Mesh puts out a consistent barrage of e-mails filled with the internet strange and bizarre, and many times great movie and music reviews. Now he'll have a blog to stash all that junk for all of us to enjoy.

The second is my bud Matt Allison (and Seth Park), both of whom are spending the summer in Maine. Matt's first post is great.

Hey, will you blog about anything new you learned from watching the Animatrix? I haven't seen it.

Sure, hopefully later today I'll have 2 minutes to blog about some cool stuff from The Animatrix. There's nothing completely revelatory, but still some interesting side stories that reveal a bit more into the world of The Matrix. The Wachowski brothers wrote a few of the mini-films, so they definately could be considered "canon."

They're pretty short aren't they? I watched the "Detective Story" today, and I think it wasn't longer than ten minutes. In that story, it was interesting to see that a person who was beginning to realize what the matrix was only had a short amount of time to get out, if the agents discovered it, because the agents could hop into his body. I hadn't really thought about that, but it makes you realize that the rescue operation has to be very covert and secretive, and fast.

I don't have alot of time, but...

remember that kid in Reloaded that was all bowin' down to Neo and whatnot, talking about how Neo saved him...well, his story is in the Animatrix, and it's great.

There was also a great story in the Animatrix about some humans who were fightin' and hiding out on the surface of Earth, doing research on the machines, and actually they mentioned something about some machines revolting and joining the human revolution. It also had some great philosophy about the machines seeing all of life as a simulation, as an illusion. It was solid.

Ooh, those both sound cool. What's the name of the second one?

Posted by: scott cunningham at June 9, 2003 12:41 PM

Heck, I dunno...that's a really good question...

I ummm...watched an Animatrix rip, and not the actual DVD, and for some reason, the title section of each vid would go a little blurry, so I couldn't always make out the name.

BUT, I do know that the guy who animated that feature was the guy who did that old MTV cartoon Aeon Flux, which I always thought was cool.
