Prince Edward Island

Hola Amigos, it's been a few days since I rapped atcha,

April and I are currently up in Charlottetown, Prince Edward Island in Canadia. Yes, Canadia. I must insist that "Canada" be forever called "Canadia."

Prince Edward Island is beautiful. Sure, it's filled with Canadians, but for the most part the people are really friendly. I've yet to nail down what/where exactly is going on with their accents. Sometimes it sounds positively Canadian, other times, Scottish, and today I ran into a buncha wannabe French from Quebec and well, that just threw everything into disarray.

So we crashed in Cavendish last night, which was the little town that Lucy Maude Montgomery based all her gushing-chick books Anne of Green Gables and Anne of Avonlea on. We went to the "Green Gables" house, went down Lovers Lane and into the Haunted Wood. Yes, I'll admit, I kinda enjoyed the movies, though I havent' read the books. The down of Cavendish was downright gorgeous.

Then we ate seafood from this restaurant on a little inlet. It was fresh. Caught that day. It was incredible.

Anyways, today we're hanging in Charlottetown, and later we're gonna catch the ferry from Wood Island over to Nova Scotia. I must say, as a final thought, the drive to PEI from Maine, through New Brunswick, made me heartily convinced that much of Canada really has absolutely nothing in it. Really, nothing. Just trees and crows. Sure, it's pretty in parts, but there's just this overwhelming sense of nothingness. Made me understand what my friend Julian was talking about. He's from Alberta.

Well, we're loving it up here. We miss everyone, and are kinda sorta looking forward to getting back in a few days, but only after we see The Bay of Fundy and it's massive tides.

Heading to Nova Scotia, eh? Beautiful, beautiful place. If you can, be sure to head up to Cape Breton, especially the northwest coast. It's a really wonderful area.

Oh, and that TV you ganked out of the apartments? That wasn't Julian's and the guys want it back :)

Hey,

So Simpson didn't pay some bills, and the electricity at our house was shut off. We've got it back on again, but now I can't log on to your computer, and there's a Bruce Springsteen song that I've downloaded, and is now stuck in my head, and which I would dearly like to get out by listening to it.

All this is to say that if you (or Ry-Dawg) can find the time to e-mail me your password, that'd be nice. Hope your Canadian adventure continues apace.

Also, today is my 22nd birthday. Wish you were here for a throw-down.

And the Springsteen song is "Atlantic City," my favorite by the Boss, if that's any motivation.

Happy Birthday, Ernie. Sorry it's one day late.
Hugs and kisses to you.
