Flooding
I'm not sure I can even describe this, it's so insane. The flooding here in Chattanooga right now is just nuts. The Tennessee River is at like 35 feet, which is 5 feet above flood stage. Doesn't seem like much, except the main road leading to my house runs right along the Tennessee, so its completely flooding. Not only that, the ONLY way to get to that road right now (because of flooding) is from the on and offramps off I-24.
Then, it's like a 20 mile drive around winding back roads to the one and only road that can get to the road my house is on. Its nuts.
We also have no phone, but alas! My cable modem still works, so this, and e-mail, are my only connection to the outside world. It's crazy.
Oh, and none of my three housemates are here. I don't think they could find their way here.
But wedding update. I get married in 4 days. My family is all here. Most of April's fam is here and her Dad get's here tommorow. Things are crazy. There's so much to do. I think my head is gonna expload.

The Chattanoogan has a couple of articles on the flooding. There are photo galleries of the the flooding here, here, here, and here. A picture is worth a thousand words. These pictures might give an idea of how crazy this flooding is. Flash flooding really is crazy. You drive across a road once and then come back in a few hours and it is under several feet of water. Finding your way home is an adventure.

I put a couple of photos and a QTVR of my attempt to get into work, via Brainerd Rd. this morning. It's at http://mkelley.net/flood-2003/
The titled jpgs are flat panoramas.
Yeah, it's insane. I was just in awe driving home yesterday. Soccer fields at Chatt. ST flooded, 153 was just spilling onto the edges, now it's covering the roads. 75, 24, 153 were all nightmares. I just turned around and headed home.
