SIP Update
Good news on the SIP front. Right now I've got a B, with a little editing and making it more explicitly Christian, I might be able to pull an A. Davis said he loved it and it was the most interesting thing I've written yet. I'm happy.

Very cool, man. This is your thesis, right? This is the idea you mentioned not too long ago about the erosion of community in the US?

Well, it deals a little bit with the erosion of community in American culture, that is more or less the backdrop. Specifically it deals with emergant communities in cyberspace and the strengths and weaknesses of Computer-Mediated-Communication (such as chatrooms, instant messenger, and bloggin).
I basically argue that CMC's cannot create healthy communities in and of themselves that remain purely in cyberspace, but they CAN encourage and help build already existing communities and relationships.
I also argue that cyberspace is experiencing a shift from the purely "virtual" towards more places centered real-world communities. I.E. the centering of blogging around places and the push towards face to face meetups. Things like that.

Wow! Praise like that from Davis is praise indeed. You can be proud.

It sounds very interesting. Maybe when you're done, you could shoot me a copy?

Ya, I'll be kicking down everyone a copy as soon as I finish up the final draft, which means in the next two days. The final draft is due at 11:59 p.m. Wednesday night.
