What made it really wonderful I thought is the fact that April and I haven't been attending Cornerstone for very long. We really only started attending late last year, and we've only just now been moving and shaking to become members.
What I love is how the families in the church work very hard to remove the "family - college student" distinction, which is something that is very common in the churches are Covenant College. To be fair, the students are in many respects transients through the churches, and in fact, only attend 9 months out of the year. Also, many of them do no pursue membership, nor do they attempt to become part of the life and community of the church.
What I respect about Cornerstone, is that it seems that they utterly refuse to let anyone be left on the wayside. Yes, some of you might think I'm speaking out of bitterness for past Church-going experiences, but I don't think I am. This all just really hit me last night, when I had people I had at best been formally introduced to, coming up to me giving me hugs and presents and inviting April and I over to dinner. I'm really blessed to be at that church.
