Benny Hinn vs. Jerry Springer
I work outta my house a few days a week, and because I have Comcast High-Speed Cable, which comes with 12 channels of innocuous basic cable. During the day, other then Jim Lehrer, the only "interesting" programs running are TBN (in the midst of a big fund-raising drive) and Jerry Springer (doing a three hour sleaze-a-thon).
Now personally, I like to leave the television on TBN. I'm sorta on a mission to figure out just what the heck is going on with all those wackos. Today they healed a blind guy. At least, I think they did. He never got up off the floor after Benny Hinn pulled a Holy Spirit sucker punch to his forehead.
But my housemate gets so annoyed at TBN that he wants to watch Springer.
Its a sick world where your tv. choices are TBN or Jerry Springer and you can't figure out which one is more evil. We could always turn the tv. off...but what fun would that be?

*Laughs* Yes, I did the same thing for a while. Eventually one crazy night a bunch of us called up those TBN people and with a back country Southern accent started grilling em on how much money we needed to give and if God would really make us rich. Needless to say they've got some crafty folk on the other end of the line, who no doubt manipulate the weakminded. Your last line there reminds of a line out of "Death: The High Cost of Living" by Neil Gaiman. The main character Sexton, after being saved by the cutest Death you'll ever meet, states, "... I don't want to live in the same world as the World Wrestling Federation and the Home Shopping Network." Now it would seem if I was the only one who thought these various media expressions were strangely perverse, then it would be myself who was not "normal." However, I keep meeting people who find much of what we observe through media outlets as being strangely perverse. So why is it this stuff works on people. Why do the masses, who we trust in this so-called democracy to make decisions, find this stuff interesting, amusing, or even... believe?

Of course, you could always turn off the TV and go out for a walk. It's very nice outside these days, I'm told.

Capital idea, Aaron! I hear the big blue room is awfully nice these days as well. I actually don't even watch TV anymore, just movies once in a while. You've got the right idea.

i would like to say that i think that benny hinn is a man of god. you should not judge a man of god like this. i think that it is wrong. and you are going to get judged by the lord jesus christ. and this is why i think that benny hinn is a man of god. guess what i am going to email benny hinn ministries and i am going to show them the proof of what you said about them then i am going to ask them to sue you. and this is all that i would like to say.

Is suing me something a man of god would do? Besides, I don't think Benny Hinn needs the whopping $72.13 that I own. I did notice you said Benny Hinn was a "man of god" lower-case g....

I love the lower-case-alphabet-and-erroneous-punctuation style of writing. It just blesses my soul. We should all try to emulate not only this marvelous method of writing, but also the fallacious argumentation so aptly demonstrated by Adam. Thank you for your thoughts, sir. Actually, I am somewhat reminded of the article on this site.

We need to start a "Benny Hinn is a FlootLoop Con-Artists" website.
Ok, so Adam thinks Benny Hinn is a man of god, why?

Any self-proclaimed agent of God such as Benny Hinn is bound to lure at least a couple of simpletons. Despite however doctrinally errant Hinn may be, he's wildly popular among the impressionable sheep of the world.

I just loved Benny Hinn for years and went to his church in Orlando once and to a crusade in Spartansburg , But over the years I noticed Benny does NOT preach the bible as the apostals did he don`t tell you that according to the bible you are to be baptized in Jesus name, who is the name of the Father, Son, and Holy Ghost? theres to numerous to mention scriptures that tells you Jesus WAS GOD People needs to read there bible more and study the scriptures because its says study the scriptures for in them you THINK you have eternal life. Benny and all the Trinity preachers need to tell the truth ,alot of people will go to hell with good intentions,The people asked Peter what must they do to be saved after Jesus accended and Peter saidBe baptized everyone of you in the name of Jesus FOR the remission of your sins, so if you are bapitzed any other way your sins will go with you.

Yeah, some of the things Benny Hinn does is kinda "out there", but are we ever going to be able to understand God? I think not. What if what he does IS God's work? What then? Are you still going to criticize and judge? If your answer is yes, I feel sorry for you. If this is not of God, then God will deal with Benny Hinn....why should we try and take God's job?

i do believe that man has no right to attack men and woman whom the Lord is using for His Glory. We may disagree or agree on Benny Hinn, Kenneth Copeland or Rod Parsly for that matter but at the end of the day, God's word is being proclaimed irrespective of what we think. I find it funny that though we may be sitting with critical opinions, God is still building His kingdom. We fret and frustrate ourselves with 'tele evangelists' but are our lives personally right with God, do we personally know Jesus as Lord and Saviour. Benny Hinn can't take you into heaven, only Jesus Christ. Take the log out of your own eye and then take the speck out of your brother's eye.

Kudos to you Berrie -- Why is everyone so ready to attack their brothers and sisters on this planet? God Almighty is the only one that will deal with his children and it is not up to any of us to cast judgment............and besides, if you have a REAL one-on-one relationship with Jesus, you will see things through HIS eyes...not the world's eyes.

Like the word of God says. You can tell by there fruits.Christ said many will come in my name but I new them not.Ask Benny why he needs millions and millions of $ dollars to live on ,when our Lord Jesus Christ didn't even have a pillow to lay his head on.
