I got home a little early yesterday, so I had a little time to sit & hang out. I started surfing the TV, then I started flipping through the paper with the TV on some channel I wasn't really watching.
Then Oprah came on.
I know Oprah is the waelthist woman in the universe and supposedly the #1 pop culture icon that has ever existed, but I've gotta say it: she's an idiot.
Her guests were the cast of the latest Julia Roberts chick flick and her audience was full of college-age girls who acted like they typical preteen studio audience at a taping of "Saved by the Bell" in 1991. But that's not what made Oprah look like an idiot.
What made her look stupid were her questions. Chris Farley asked better questions of his guests on The Chris Farley Show on SNL. It was perhaps the most boring, shallow series of celebrity interviews I'd ever seen.
I've never really watched Oprah that much. I watched once when I was in college (over 10 years ago) and she struck me as a racist and sexist. Maybe it was just that one show, though. Either way, Oprah doesn't impress me much.
Note to David Letterman: Do you really want her to come on your show?

Jerry puts on a spectacle for his audience and so does she, the difference is in the packaging. Her show is more palatable to middle class America. For instance, she'll justify displaying 13 year old white suburban prostitues by saying something life, "this is an issue that must be addressed", or "if I help just one person out there, it's worth it", but those kind of problems can't be solved in 1 hour. The women doesn't strike me as being very intelligent.

And if I had several billion dollars, I could easily give away millions.
Not only is she not a role model, she is an embarrassing reminder of what has gone wrong with blacks who have achieved some time of fame; just like the rappers and the disgusting venom that now oozes out of almost every medium. As a black woman, she represents what I would not want.

Her sponsors did. And when she does shell out her own money, she has a giant publicity machine that makes sure the entire world knows it. That isn't charity, it's Public Relations.

I don't agree she is an idiot, since she was smart enough to get good financial advice. She is not a real philanthropist. She uses vendors and corporations to appear as a giving person. Her accounting books surely show enormous tax write-offs, while she is rewarded by pimping the cars, appliances and other goodies she appears to give away by big business. Oprah is a female pimp. She gives terrible advice and surely couldn'g break 100 on an IQ test. Her support of Obama is transparently racist. In listening to her speach, all I could hear is that he would be good for the Blacks. She did him a lot of harm.
Wish I had the time to start a website devoted to the ignorant things she has done in the past.
