prayers: July 2005 Archives

It was appropriate that I finished the last post yesterday, just before heading over to Ben Borger's (aka BB aka Borgerness) place for his going away party. He loaned me Gornik's book. And now he's headed to the Philippines for 3 years as a Fulbright scholar, Chalmer's Center researcher, and member of the Hunger Corps.

Ben is a good friend and a dear brother -- we lived together for 2 years in Alton Park, and he was a partial inspiration for this essay I wrote about a year ago. He's got a big heart for God and His mission, and has been a consistent encouragement to me in that area over the years.

Supposedly, he'll be keeping up with us through his website at Food for the Hungry, although right now, he can't think of anything to say.

A prayer request for him, though. He's been sick with a mystery bug he caught in Guatemala for months now. It's mostly characterized by constant exhaustion, which is a hard thing when you're trying to leave the country for three years. We're praying for his healing and for his perfection.
