photo friday: "self-portrait"

Blogging this for three reasons. One, it's today's theme. Two, I promised Sam. Three, it's easy because I already had it (didn't we just do this a few months ago for themethursday.com? maybe I'm just losing my mind).

You could be in the Mirror Project.

hmm. you know, i think that's where i already submitted that. because it's ringing a bell but i don't think now that we did this on themethursday nor on 26 Things 2 for sh1ft.org projects. mirror project might be what i was thinking of.

Confused for three reasons.

How could you ever buy an Olympus?

If it be Thanksgiving, why are meandering around deserted gas stations?

If that be a gas pump, then why are you surrounded by grass?

ok. those are good questions.

1. i could not afford an olympus. it's a $300 gift from a unique and uniquely wealthy client who was very thankful for an all-nighter i pulled in order to make his project deadline. he was very kind.

2. my family and i went to a state park to celebrate thanksgiving (we had already semi-celebrated it the conventional way back in september for a number of complicated reasons). it would've been nice except we forgot matches and couldn't grill out. we thought about putting the hot dogs on the radiator, but a couple of us braver ones opted to eat them (with chips and salsa of course) raw. overall it was an ok day.

3. it is a marina pump. in other words, it was next to the water, for boats. there was a pier. i don't know. i guess that explains the grass.

p.s. that (the marina pumpness) is why on the 26 Things 2 page (see sidebar for link) the no smoking sign has water reflected in it.
