My one and only Red Sox post of the season

The Red Sox lost. For some reason, it doesn't bother me as much as it thrills this guy. Whatever. We swept his foldy birds last year and I'm not so sure they'll win this year, either. The White Sox are my pick as of right now.

2004 was such a year of amazing impossibilities for the Red Sox that it seemed like the 2005 Sox were sleepwalking through the season; suffering a season's long hangover in the wake of the party of the century. It would, admittedly, be hard to get revved up after two gut wrenching post seasons like they'd had the previous two years. The injuries didn't help, either. Like All Star pitcher Matt Clement getting hit in the head with a line drive, for example. Instead of pulling away with the division, the now floundering Clement and the Sox simply stayed afloat (barely) into the playoffs.

It just wasn't the same team in 2005, nor will next year's be. There were some great players and some great moments, but not enough of either.

Now, maybe a hotel room in Fort Myers for Spring Training next year won't be so hard to come by. Jeesh.
