The Supreme Court nominee...
...appears to be a moderate. But his once aiding the writing of a brief that stated, "We continue to believe that Roe was wrongly decided and should be overruled" (How dare he?!? That Bastard!) will bring the obligatory, knee jerk character assasination from Democrats, lambasting the man DESPITE the fact that he later said, when pressed, that:
"Roe v. Wade is the settled law of the land. ... There's nothing in my personal views that would prevent me from fully and faithfully applying that precedent."
You see, when put into the position of interpreting the Constitution -- which is, coincidentally, going to be his job as a Supreme Court justice -- he was able to do it. He failed to act as an ACTIVIST JUDGE, something that he would be encouraged to do (by his same critics) should he be IN FAVOR of abortion. Or any other sympathetic cause.
Nope, he did his job...regardless of the fact that his personal views might lean towards thinking that abortions available with vending machine ease might not be the best thing for our country.
As I look at my beautiful, sleeping, pregnant wife, I am more inclined than ever to agree with him.
