Me. Dad.
Well, it's been a full week since Melissa and I found out that we're going to have a baby. And since 95% of the phone calls and personal visits to family members to announce the news have been completed, I thought it was time to mention it on the ol' blog. (I never knew there was a protocol (who you have to tell first, when you can tell other people, etc.) on how to announce something like this, but evidently there is...)
We are absolutely ecstatic and humbled. I already know that Melissa will be a great mom and I pledge to do my best to be a great dad. It is a great honor and duty to be parents and we are more than ready.
Of course, before finding out the news, I still wasn't sure if I REALLY wanted to be a parent. But AFTER finding out the news, I can't think of anything I'd rather be but a parent. The excitement has dissolved the uncertainty.
It looks like a March due date. Melissa wants -- and everybody thinks it will be -- a girl. It makes no difference to me.
I love my wife more than anybody else on the planet.
