Softball Update
Over the last 2 weeks, our recently-augmented team has won three straight games. We've added three top-notch players who can not only hit for power, but play solid defense, as well. In last night's game, we even exceeded our home run limit, which would have led to 5 more runs than the 14 we won with. My elbow and knee problems seem to be a thing of the past, too. The slight crouch I've added to my approach at the plate has allowed me to stay back on the ball longer, and I've been succesful in hitting to all fields -- including a run-scoring double last night over the heads of, and between, the left-center and right-center fielders. I even threw a guy out at third (I play left field) who was trying to take an extra base on a base hit down the line.
We have bench depth (we actually have designated hitters AND a short fielder), two different pitchers and a lineup stacked with power.
The rest of the season should be much more fun than I thought it would be when we started. Yes, winning is always better.
