Raymond Post-Mortem
Tonight's Raymond finale was bittersweet, but perfect. I admit, I have too many parasocial relationships with TV people, but this show was different and made me feel less guilty about it. It reminded me very much of my family. I never watched the show at all until three years ago. I quickly became addicted. The writing was stellar, the performances were always great and when they added Fred Willard, Chris Elliott and Georgia Engel to the mix, it became almost unbearably great to watch. These three actors (who play Amy's parents and brother) would, along with Robert and Amy, make a great spin-off. Who knows if they'll do it.
I don't think that the sitcom is dead. I just think it's getting harder to find good ones. Everybody Loves Raymond was one of the good ones.
...now let's see what The Office and Scrubs have up their sleeves.
