Jose Canseco's Book
So, Jose Canseco has this new book coming out where he will be unleashing all the poop concerning Major League Baseball players who, among other things, did steroids during his time in the league.
I've heard Jose talk about this book for at least a year, listened to some very funny former bash brother-bashing moments on "The Dan Patrick Show" and then noticed that, in an attempt to capitalize on the hoopla surrounding Barry Bonds' and Jason Giambi's recent controversies, the publishing date has been pushed up to January.
The saddest thing? A poll on Canseco's own website for people's feelings towards the new book yielded this result.
Canseco's life after baseball has been a struggle. Canseco has been arrested more than once, and has had to sell his MVP plaque along with a bunch of other memorobilia. He has also offering people the chance to spend a truckload of money to "Spend a Day with Jose Canseco."
I don't really have a point to this post other than to say that this guy was an amazing ballplayer and it's unfortunate that he couldn't have left the game a bit more gracefully...and peacefully.
