U2?

Not that I have to see U2 this year, but Kerry really wants to, so we tried getting gouged by ticketmaster to no avail, since Fan club members got a ton of tix presale, then scalpers got the rest and put them all on ebay. My goal is to keep winning bids on ebay til we get some good seats, then welsh on all the "legal contracts" with scalpers online. They don't like it, not getting their $250 for $50 tickets, guess what, neither do I like paying it. At least go stand outside the venue. These people aren't even in the same city.

Anybody been nailed to the wall for not following through with ebay bids?

Ahh...screw 'em. I paid almost $100 for a Madonna ticket that originally cost $50. The way things are going, it's every man (and woman) for himself. If all else fails, get tickets from the guy at the venue whose girlfriend dumped him the night before.

I am not trying to accuse you of anything, so please don't think that. I didn't know if you would care or not, but I always think it is best that the consequence sof actions be understood, and if you think the system is corrupt, I am not sure why you desire to further corrupt it yourself for your own benefit... thats why it would be corrupt to begin with, everyone for self interest unaware or uncaring of other consequences.

I know you will buy eventually, but that is after numerous times of violating a bid (possibly). Don't you think that other U2 ticket sellers will be keeping an eye on what the going price is, and will soon find out that some bidders are not auctually purchasing when they bid? Again, not accusing, just trying to see if you had thought things through thouroughly, I know I often don't see all consequnces. Being ruled by your passions leads to problems later, so just be aware of them.

I am not trying to preach, correct, or anything. You may do wahtever actions you see fit. Right or wrong, and fulfill the consequences of those actions, good or bad.

Also, if I might as,I am on odd duck, so please don't try to put any more personal attacks on me, I promise I won't fit any conceived idea's you have about myself. (except perhaps my inability to spell well)

And no, I don't buy popcorn. I don't eat it. Nor do I buy soda and I rarely go to movies, not worth the money.

Hey guess what? I don't care.. A. I do intend to buy the tickets of my choice at a reasonable price, B. you are buying into a corrupt system that even Bono should be (and I think is) ashamed of, and C. did I say I don't care?

Good luck with your tickets and buying your house and all. I bet you usually buy the $5 small popcorn at the theater too.

if I may interject, as a fellow U2 fan, and beg you not to welsh on your promises. Only for this reason. You are screwing me (and others who are also trying to get the tickets).

Its not just that you are getting scalped, but that you, since you don't intend to auctually buy it, are artificially raising the price, and are scalping ME. If i bid on it for $225, and you bid and win it at $230... the seller will come and ask me to pay $230 for the ticket. Why? Because "someone" offered to pay that. But your offer was not a true offer. So, I, if i buy it, will be paying more because you somehow didn't want to be scalped, but in the process scalped me further.

Secondly, I am not going to fully go off on my theory of scalping, but basically... if someone is willing to pay that price and auctually has the money to pay it, why can't someone sell it to them for that price? Same as a house honestly. You may wish to buy a house for $100,000, but can only find them for $150,000. Now, if you keep offering to buy, tying the property up and then at the last moment not closing, you are wasting your tiem and other peoples times. Now, you coudl wait to see if you find a house for $100,000, but chances will be low to find them (though possible) and it will tkae more work on your part.

Anyway, all that to say, as a fellow U2 fan, who will possibly go to the same venue as you (Atlanta?) don't raise the prices for me because you are falsely telling people you will buy when you know you won't.
