Clarifying a Potential Misunderstanding Over at the Daily Bailout

For any visitors coming here from a link in an article at Daily Bailout I hope that you will indeed read the post below wherein I comment on the North Carolina Baptist Church debacle. My views may have been somewhat, and inadvertently perhaps, mischaracterized by John Bailles in his own post, so let me restate my point.

If Pastor Chandler's actions are indeed political, which the pastor denies, then I do not find such actions defensible and condemn them. Until Pastor Chandler actually gives an account of his actions, however, all we can do is speculate. My speculation is that his actions arose from doctrine and not politics. But even if my speculation is true, I have further questions as to whether Pastor Chandler handled the scenario properly.

In other words, contrary to the thinking of many in America, especially the media, life is more than just politics, and Christians behave in the public square in ways not motivated merely by politics. That was and is my point.

I wait, with the rest of those interested in this story, for further information and truth to come out.
